I was born in Glasgow, Scotland and throughout my life I’ve had the opportunity to implement and enjoy many personal and professional goals and interests. At an early age an interest for photography had developed.
In my younger days I achieved my ambition of becoming involved in the professional football game at the highest domestic level, playing and meeting many of the top professionals of the day.
I was also studying engineering which became my main profession and income for many years although it never entirely satisfied me.
Having an entrepreneurial attitude to life and always willing to learn, understand and drive towards different ways of earning a living, especially through my interests, I pursued my keen interest in photography, eventually selling images through a stock agency and becoming a contributor to several national newspapers.
Travelling frequently between the UK and Europe I now have more time available to devote to the pursuit I love and my lifestyle allows me the freedom and opportunity to cover some of the most photogenic possibilities in France, Spain, Portugal,Italy and elsewhere in Europe, if required.
In my images I try to give viewers a flavour of the local cultures, included are Street Architecture, Roman and Local Heritage,Religious Artefacts,Vineyards,Markets,Mountains,Beaches, the People…,and all things that make life in the Mediterranean/Europe so interesting and unique.
The colours in my images are as close as possible to reality at the time they were taken, with no heavy handed manipulation from expensive processing programmes.
The UK with it’s long cultural history also provides a rich diversity of photo opportunities.
I consider myself extremely fortunate to have the freedom and natural resources available to me and my camera and to produce images pleasing not only to myself, but to others also.
